The Washington Clean Energy Testbeds’ Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) program operates in conjunction with CoMotion’s mentors program to provide users and others in the innovation community with the opportunity to receive counsel from seasoned cleantech entrepreneurs. Our EIR supports the growth of early-stage start-up companies and individuals considering establishing a company around their technology. They provide mentorship to inexperienced entrepreneurs in key start up activities related to team formation, strategic marketing, business development, strategic partnering, manufacturing strategy and fund raising. Regular office hours and periodic events offer opportunities for valuable face-to-face discussions.
The Washington Clean Energy Testbeds has partnered with Jeff Canin and the angel investment firm, E8, to establish an Investor-in-Residence (IIR) program to provide support for early stage start-up companies seeking investment to commercialize their technology. Jeff and others from E8 evaluate funding strategies of early stage clean energy and cleantech companies. The IIRs can help facilitate connections between startup companies and potential sources of funding and business development programs, as well as mentor inexperienced entrepreneurs in funding activities, such as effective funding plans, investment proposal writing, and verbal pitch strategies.
The Testbeds offers private offices rental and “hot desk” space for individuals and business who use the facility regularly.
